Hello all, thought I would say hi...

Hiya all, just thought I would give a quick introduction to myself. I play Nuroog in-game, real name Martin. I am Scottish living in Swindon (U.K.). I am a Dad of 2 gorgeous little ladies (one at school (Abby) the other still to young (Emily)) and married to an amazing, beautiful woman (not only blue eyed and blond, but a nurse to boot ). I was a research scientist (looking at Bovine tuberculosis and trying to develop a vaccine for it) however I have taken some time off to raise my youngest to school age.

Other games that I play include World of Warcraft (this is my main game, I am a guild leader of one of the oldest guilds on my server) where I play an Orc Warrior (strangely also known as Nuroog). I also play Star Trek online (since it went ftp) were I have a level 50 Vice admiral and fly a ship...strangely enough called Nuroog...humm there may be a pattern forming here and (not quite) finally, but last of the main games I play, Left 4 Dead 2 (which I play on steam with some friends). Far too many games, not any where near enough free time to play them...despite appearances.

In game I tend to fly a line (Adv Fenrir) but I am also saving up for a War Raider, which is taking time as I refuse to give BP any money until the get off their collective behinds and do something about the game.

Sidenote,can't say WoW ever appealed to me,but the left for deads were great games

I played wow with a lot of RL friends as well as the missus (and even my oldest has a toon ) which is the main reason why I like it, the social aspect of the game. As for L4D...aye only recently started playing these (past 3-4 months) but they are great fun.

well now...trouble is it that you seek...hummm well seek ye no longer.

Was thinking that if we could get as many of the SBM online at the same time, all in our Adv Fenrir (or whatever your fav ship is) we could go a seeking as many colonial mines as we can find and wipe them out. Not to take the mines...just simply jump in kill everything and jump out again as fast as we can. If we use the fennies to jump we can take every ship with us (i.e. if there is a strike or 2 who cares). Just jump to random smurf mines, no pattern, keep the guessing. Our 'side' of the map and as far behind enemy lines as we can get...no system safe...no mine safe.

Muhahahahahaha!

That sounds like a plan I have been passing on the details to all the SbM members I come across.

And this could be the best place to plan a Ragenz style attack with basestar and ftl etc...

Cutter is an old gaming handle and comes out to play occasionally. (The York suffix is there to differentiate me from all the others)

I am Nathan, I am nearer 50 than 40, live and work in York and I am not a Yorkshireman.

I do all sorts of silly games and hobbies ranging from online gaming (just one at a time ) to xbox to wargames to re-enactment to steam punkery silliness.

In BSG I am on my second server having got to lvl 18 on a previous one. I am not nor have I ever been a practising Colonial. I have been playing since April (ish) 2011 and mostly play lunchtime UK time at work.

Hey guys ELL4EVER here, UK on the end is for obvious reasons. Real name Elliott, 17, being working since I was 15. Love to laugh and make others laugh. Gone from PC gaming to handheld and console gaming. Started off with cod 1 and halo 1 on the pc and also played other shooters like serious sam (one of my all time faves). I'd say FPS's are my speciality area but I also played games like dawn of war and monster hunter in the past so I like most types of games. Somehow found my way back to pc gaming in the form of bgo and I love it even though I complain alot. When I'm not gaming I'm at college or at work trying to get somewhere in life. That is of course if I'm not passed out on someones floor after a wild party. I'm most certainly not religious and some might say my outlook on life is bleak but it is what it is at the end of the day. I pride myself in being a great gamer (got a P99 MOAB on mw3 and a 55-0 match on black ops domination on array). Don't mind where I end up job wise, as long as its relatively easy then it's all good. I've been called crazy because of my ability to spend money on pointless things and failing to see when someone loves me but it's better to be different than to try and fit in. If you made it this far down the page then at some point you will get a free cookie posted through your door.

Hi all, Jason, 37, currently residing in Nottingham and working for Games Workshop. This is my first real online game, but I've played CoH and DoW over net as well as a few other things. Currently just chillin and enjoying the Cylon challenge after getting fairly bored playing as a colonial (Martini_Henrie normally in a Halb). Loving my ickle war raider (not far from advancing and putting the star scream paint job on) and working towards a Liche and then a Fen eventually.

Loving the game, and enjoying the banter even though I've only properly flown with you guys once.

What times are you normally online?

@ell,monster hunter?Was that a game a little bit like pokemon where you'd capture monsters and train them up/feed them and breed them to get other monsters?And you could put music cds in the ps and you'd get diff monsters from each one?If so i played that a bit heh.

Yeah, Zat have been a few fleet actions with that Hallie, hate Fenrirs which is why I really want one! It's not set up particularly well as that account has turned into a learning one, that I only log into sporadically. I work odd shifts so am online irregularly, I try to get on as much as possible. I'm really loving my War Raider, even though I never got on with the Mk7, and to be honest I'm just waiting for the next happy hour to get a Fen or a Liche (prolly go for a Fen, just to join in with the big boys).

Yeah the BP forums are getting a bit much, every thread that gets going and tries to be the slightest bit constructive gets blocked. Plus there are some absolute buffoons posting in the main threads that make them all into bad jokes. I'm only in game sporadically, and enjoy the PvP aspect of it. However the lack of new things to do does mean that if I make it online for more than a few days in a row I can become jaded fast.

I'm looking at starting up the Mechwarrior game when it gets going, what do you guys think about big fighty robots?

I have (as I believe many others have) registered, so when the game is released I will be there.

I agree that the forums are now beyond a joke (one of the main reasons why I seldom post there). To heavily moderated and I also agree with the main forums being filled with silly people, nutters and trolls....seriously it's either 'strikes are under powered/escorts over powered/lines are under powered' or 'this new ammo is shit' threads. And don't you just love when some numpty then brings in the old phrase...'yes but in real life...this and that'...stupid...it's a game about humans shooting and being shot at by robots on the other side of the galaxy taking place 150,000 years ago (or there about...if we are to use the time that 'modern man' first appeared on this planet.) how real do you want it to be?

Anyway, sadly I still enjoy playing, though I will be honest and say it's only really fun when we get together and make a SBM run into smurf territory kill their mines and make them run for the OP (which happens far too often...wish they'd grow a backbone some of them) and then we 8 man kill the OPand jump onto the next target. But that said I do believe that if most, if not all, the SBM move on I think I shall join you in the boxing of my cylon and the opening of my Mech Warrior to once more rain havoc down upon our enemies. You will not be surprised to learn my toon name will again be Nuroog.

My mechwarrior name is martini_henrie, and am waiting for the beta tests. Flying in a group and taunting the lolonials is the most fun.

suup these are the games that ive been playing perpetuum, and champions the subscription game perpetuum is roxer tho pretty heavy on the farming you wont ever see the ftp russians pwning everything and well if you get bored theres a 15 day trial you can take , further more it is impossible to buy power the ONLY thing you can buy is game time LOL. also for those that are interested... it has the following things guild sharing , guild production, guild mining hunting and owing of structures / islands. however everything is earnt un game / thus you cant cant 300 on it and buy an island... you have to save up open an island and fight for it as ppl come to take it from you etc etc perrpetuum is beyond anything i have ever played its even player based economy / you have to pay player rates if you want something bad enough. and some objects are immpossible to get do to knowone is manufacrureing them.

I will try perpetuum ragenz this sunday i think,but i have to say,i downloaded lord of the rings online and despite the fantasy dorkiness,i'm enjoying the game,it has loads of content,the devs are still working heavily on it,and it is free to play model(you can either buy an optional sub that allows you to rent some features or other features you get with a 1 month sub will be permanently unlocked for your account even when the sub runs out)or you can buy each piece of content you want through the store at your own pace.

Grind heavy but the store currency it seems can all be earned completely free with time put in playing.Players are generally helpfull and nice too.

Definitley looking forward to mechwarrior though.

Regards escorts i think the acc ammo is overpowered But thats neither here nor there,i will certainly be Zatoichi or Ichiotaz if some bugger has taken the name.(which happens a lot it seems,popular name for some reason)

I am going to look at lord of the rings online too, while awaiting mech warrior.

Fed up with bp and the bugs issues etc.. might play some evenings so I can fly with some SBM guys and make sure others like chris and bull etc.. join here so we can go in as a team

If you do try it out,i am on nimrodel server,a lvl 11 dwarf heh,it was recomended to me when i first logged on so it must be a euro server,name of my toon is Morarin,goes for everyone else,if you try it whisper me so we can add,or leave your toon name here if you can't figure it out yet:P

Btw the crafting system is fookin brilliant,you can actually make the second best gears in the game that way,but can't make a guild yet,need a few more levels><
